Fredi Torres and Ollivier Jacq

Established in 2016 by Fredi Torres, aka the Flying winemaker for other winemaking endeavours in projects like Sílice viticultores, Mogador and Xurxo Alba, Torres is a Spanish-Swiss DJ turned winemaker and wine importer. In 2023 Lectores vini expanded and Torres was joined by friend Olivier Jacq. The project evolved and set its sights in recuperating old vines in several regions of southern Catalonia. 

Conca de Barberà, Monstant, Priorat and the lesser known Garraf. All four regions are markedly Mediterranean in style, but each contributes in unique ways to the general character and style of Torres and Jacq's winemaking. From Priorat's higher altitude and intense mineral expression to Garraf's coastal influence and limestone soils. The winery mainly works with Tempranillo, Garnacha and Cariñena. 

In the vineyard, the approach is organic and observant: healthy soils, old vines where possible, and manual harvests that involve actual hands rather than impressive machinery. In the cellar, the guiding principle is refreshingly simple — don’t mess it up. Native yeasts do the fermenting, stainless steel tanks keep things honest, and oak (when used) is usually seasoned and discreet.
